10 Games Like Cyberpunk 2077 To Play Right Now

Cyberpunk 2077 is one of the biggest games of the century. Games like Cyberpunk 2077 don’t come along too often, particularly in this genre. That being said, if you need another “high tech, low-life” fix, there are plenty of cyberpunk games out there to try.

Here, we’ve rounded up some of the best games like Cyberpunk 2077. If you know of any more, let us know in the comment section below.

10. Deus Ex: Mankind Divided

Deus Ex: Mankind Divided is probably the closest game like Cyberpunk 2077 that there is right now. In fact, the whole series does a great job of creating that authentic neon-lit, rainy night feel that makes the genre so aesthetically pleasing.

Mankind Divided is arguably the best in the franchise so far, though. The return of Michael McCann for the music makes the atmosphere in the game so much more special, too. The only downside to playing Mankind Divided is that you will undoubtedly be left impatiently waiting for its sequel, something that has been mooted, but there is no solid information yet. We can always stay hopeful for a continuation of Adam Jensen’s story.

9. Watch Dogs 2

Watch Dogs 2 is a rare example of how to nail the sequel to a great original. With a stunning open world environment, unique missions, and an engaging storyline there’s really not that much more you can ask for in a game.

As high-tech goes, Marcus and the crew get to experience some pretty nifty gadgets, all while navigating the city of San Francisco and its surroundings.

Admittedly, it may take a while to warm to the characters, but once you do you’ll end up really rooting for them. The game has a good balance of humor and seriousness that keeps you interested throughout. If multiplayer is your thing, there’s plenty of fun to be had here, too.

8. Cloudpunk

Cloudpunk is a beautiful game with an incredible cyberpunk feel. For some, though, that’s where the benefits of this futuristic adventure game end. Many critics argue that the game is slow and repetitive, and that it doesn’t leave you with much incentive to explore.

That being said, the game really is beautiful, and it feels like immersing yourself into the original Blade Runner movie as soon as you start up the game. For this reason alone, Cloudpunk is one of the best games like Cyberpunk 2077 that you’re going to want to try.

7. Anachronox

Anachronox… what a game. It really is a one of a kind game that I believe didn’t get nearly enough attention. This is a cyberpunk RPG game that doesn’t take itself too seriously, all while providing an excellent setting, plotline, and humor into the mix.

There is a lot of detail that went into the worldbuilding, and the visuals for the time were excellent, too. The wacky cutscenes and endless supply of quirky gags just add to Anachronox’s charm. As games like Cyberpunk 2077 go, this oldie will be one of the more light-hearted appetizers.

6. Ghost Runner

Ghost Runner is a futuristic action game in which you take on the role of a ninja-like warrior from a first-person perspective. For those of you gamers who remember Katana Zero, this game feels very similar, except it is in 3D and is set in an awesome cyberpunk world.

The campaign is short at roughly 8 hours total in length, but what you do get is an injection of ultra fast-paced chaos that provides a satisfying gaming experience, and one that requires more than a little bit of skill.

5. Ruiner

Ruiner is a stylish isometric RPG with a cool futuristic setting. The game’s atmosphere draws you in from the very beginning, and the extra challenging gameplay makes it rewarding when you get things right. There’s no shame in plumping for easy mode with this one.

Admittedly, it might take a while to get used to the controls and the way the game moves, something which has put off a fair few gamers, but if you can get past that you’re in for cyberpunk world enriched with powerful weapons, a cool story, and fast-paced combat action.

Ruiner is one of the many games like Cyberpunk 2077 in this list that stay true to the dystopian sci-fi aesthetic.

4. System Shock 2

What can you say about System Shock 2 that hasn’t been said already. This game is a timeless classic that is one of the early sci-fi cyberpunk classics. Set in 2114, this FPS takes place on a distant experimental starship, in which you play as an amnesia-ridden soldier who must find out what has happened to the crew aboard the ship.

The main draw of System Shock 2 is the strong storyline that comes with it. It is intense, scary, and more than a little-thought provoking. Some of the themes covered in the game could stay with you for some time after playing.

What’s more, System Shock 3 is hopefully around the corner, too, so you’ll want to try and play this before the release of the sequel.

3. Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon

Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon is a spin-off from the standard Far Cry series that hits every nail on the head perfectly. The cheesy 80s vibe, the retro action flick references, the abundant neon lights – this has everything you’d want from a game in the cyberpunk genre.

The length of Blood Dragon is perfect, too, not too long and not too short. Just enough time for you to get behind the quirky humor and outrageous action cutscenes that will leave you wanting more. It feels like this is a pet project for someone high up in the Ubisoft Far Cry team, and I’m all for it.

This is a great alternative and one of the best FPS games like Cyberpunk 2077 around at the moment.

2. Remember Me

In my opinion, Remember Me is one of the most underrated action-adventure games of recent times. Released in 2013, this futuristic cyberpunk title allows you to step into the shoes of Nilin, an endearing anti-establishment rebel fighting to regain her memories from the governing megacorporation, Memorize.

Nilin’s journey is one of many twists and turns, and the story will take you on an emotional rollercoaster for sure. More impressive are the stunning visuals on offer, visuals which are truly spectacular when you consider the year it was released. If you;re looking for a game like Cyberpunk 2077 that is both story-driven and has good gameplay mechanics, look no further than Remember Me.

1. Shadowrun

If it’s purely the cyberpunk feel that you’re after, the Shadowrun series is probably the best place to start for games like Cyberpunk 2077. You can even check out our post about the best order to play Shadowrun in.

Ever since Harebrained Studios revamped the sci-fi franchise, Shadowrun has gained a renewed popularity and has become synonymous with cyberpunk games. My favorite is Shadowrun: Hong Kong, but if you have time to check out the others, I’d recommend doing so beforehand.

Here is a game that allows you to level up and augment your character in a way that never feels too overbearing, but always feels fun. You must check out the Shadowrun series if you haven’t already.
