Final Fantasy X is one of the best games ever made. With a beautiful storyline and an engaging turn based combat system, the game quickly became one of the strongest in the FF series.
What’s more, FFX also gave us one of the best side games in the franchise – Blitzball. Finding the best Blitzball players can be a bit of a drag, though, so we’ve done it for you. Here are the best Blitzball players in Final Fantasy X for you to recruit to the Besaid Aurochs.

10. Wedge
Wedge is a very strong early player and one of the blitzball players to recruit early. Be warned, though, he’s not much use past level 20 and fast becomes irrelevant. His best position is as a forward due to his goal scoring prowess.
Best position: Forward
Level 1 Stats: HP 80. SP 65. EN 9. AT 6. PA 3. BL 5. SH 17. CA 2.
Level 50 Stats: HP 3, 327. SP 66. EN 46. AT 31. PA 11. BL 23. SH 22. CA 18.
Location: Wedge can be found at Luca’s main gate.
9. Jumal
Like Wedge, Jumal is another blitzball player to recruit early on in the game. After level 20, he’s fairly useless if you’re aiming to get the best team possible. If you’re aiming for one of the best blitzball teams early on, however, Jumal’s a good choice for a goalkeeper.
Best position: Goalkeeper
Level 1 Stats: HP 100. SP 60. EN 8. AT 1. PA 5. BL 4. SH 1. CA 14.
Level 50 Stats: HP 3,347. SP 60. EN 16. AT 16. PA 25. BL 7. SH 11. CA 25.
Location: Jumal can be found on Luca Square, along with his family.
8. Zalitz
Zalitz is a sailor who grows tired of the sea after encountering Sin one too many times for his liking. Recruit him as soon as you can in order to get the upper hand in early game blitzball games.
Best position: Defender
Level 1 Stats: HP 100. SP 59. EN 6. AT 15. PA 5. BL 11. SH 3. CA 1.
Level 50 Stats: HP 3,070. SP 59. EN 16. AT 27. PA 25. BL 31. SH 13. CA 11.
Location: Zalitz can be found outside the sphere theater in Luca.
7. Nedus
Nedus is a player that you have to be patient with. He starts out as the second slowest in the whole of Spira, after Mifurey, but from level 30 onwards develops into the fastest player in the game, along with Brother.
You’ll have to decide whether the grind is worth it, but there sure will be benefits to reap for those that do.
Best position: Forward
Level 1 Stats: HP 100. SP 30. EN 12. AT 2. PA 3. BL 2. SH 10. CA 3.
Level 50 Stats: HP 3,070. SP 45. EN 49. AT 13. PA 50. BL 7. SH 38. CA 6.
Location: Nedus can be found in Luca at dock number 1.
6. Giera Guado
Giera is the captain of the Guado Glories and, like most of his compatriots, possesses a good amount of speed. He is particularly good as a midfielder due to high blocking and passing abilities, but can also be utilized as an attacker in virtue of his good shooting ability.
Best position: Midfielder / Forward
Level 1 Stats: HP 110. SP 75. EN 12. AT 3. PA 10. BL 6. SH 11. CA 1.
Level 50 Stats: HP 3,080. SP 76. EN 22. AT 13. PA 45. BL 30. SH 41. CA 4.
Location: Giera Guado can be found in Guadosalam. Be warned that he costs 1,000 Gil per game.

5. Miyu
As a character, there’s not too much to say about Miyu. She’s a Crusader who you encounter at different intervals throughout the game. From a blitzball standpoint, though, she’s one of the best goalkeepers to be found.
Best position: Goalkeeper
Level 1 Stats: HP 100. SP 60. EN 15. AT 14. PA 2. BL 2. SH 4. CA 11.
Level 50 Stats: HP 3,300. SP 63. EN 40. AT 26. PA 7. BL 4. SH 9. CA 32.
Location: Miyu can be found in the north wharf of the Moonflow.
4. Shaami
You first encounter Shaami in Luca reporting on the blitzball tournament. For those who don’t know, though, she’s more than just a reporter, and doubles up as one of the best blitzball players in the whole of Spira, at all levels.
Best position: Forward
Level 1 Stats: HP 100. SP 58. EN 11. AT 4. PA 5. BL 2. SH 10. CA 2.
Level 50 Stats: HP 3,070. SP 62. EN 45. AT 28. PA 15. BL 12. SH 42. CA 7.
Location: You can Shaami in Luca, on the bridge towards the sphere theatre.
3. Nimrook
Undoubtedly, Nimrook is the best goalkeeper in the game by a fair margin. He doesn’t become available until later in the game, though, so you may have to be a bit patient before recruiting him to the Besaid Aurochs.
He starts out as the keeper for the Al Bhed Psyches, but should be snaffled up at the earliest possible opportunity to create the best blitzball team possible in FFX.
Best position: Goalkeeper
Level 1 Stats: HP 96. SP 60. EN 5. AT 10. PA 2. BL 4. SH 1. CA 18.
Level 50 Stats: HP 3,063. SP 60. EN 33. AT 23. PA 17. BL 11. SH 11. CA 35.
Location: Nimrook is easy to locate, he is in the corridor of the Farenheit airship.
2. Ropp
Ropp is a clerk with an unassuming ability as one of the best blitzball players in FFX. He is the strongest defender in the game, owing to his high AT, BL, and PA skills. The best thing is, he can be hired early in the game too.
Keep an eye out for him on the Mi’ihen Highroad.
Best position: Defender
Level 1 Stats: HP 191. SP 60. EN 9. AT 11. PA 10. BL 15. SH 1. CA 2.
Level 50 Stats: HP 2,925. SP 60. EN 29. AT 31. PA 39. BL 29. SH 6. CA 11.
Location: Behind the counter at Rin’s Travel Agency.
1. Brother
Best employed as a midfielder, Brother is by far the best free agent Blitzball player you can find in the whole of Spira. Fortunately, he’s easy to find, too. Brother is an Al Bhed pilot who is the cousin of Yuna, brother of Rikku, and son of Cid.
He has a very sparing role in FFX and is limited to a couple of lines here and there, usually in Al Bhed dialogue. Brother has a more prominent role in FFX-2.
Best position: Midfielder
Level 1 Stats: HP 96. SP 60. EN 5. AT 10. PA 2. BL 4. SH 1. CA 18.
Level 50 Stats: HP 3,063. SP 60. EN 33. AT 23. PA 17. BL 11. SH 11. CA 35.
Location: Brother can be recruited from the main deck of the Farenheit airship.
Bonus: Tidus
It’s worth noting that Tidus should remain a consistent member of your squad as you progress throughout the levels. Tidus is good at all levels and develops at a steady pace. His Jecht Shot has the ability to destroy most teams early on, and he only gets better the more experience you give him.
Best position: Forward

Wedge is still useful in the middle part if you’re just playing long enough to get wakka’s sigil. It’s just that the usefulness switches to defense instead of forward. I move him back to pair him with Ropp when i bring the new forward in
